Brought to you by ENYAN and Royal & Derngate, Northampton….
Do you support young people?
Looking for ways to engage, retain interest and achieve outstanding levels of success?
Do you have a remit to provide positive activities and targeted youth support?
Are you actively using the arts as a tool for engagement?
Come and hear the evidence ….
The event will draw together exceptional examples of youth arts projects from across the East Midlands, that have made a real positive difference to the lives of young people, their families and the communities they live in. Leading figures from across the youth arts sector will speak at the conference and we are delighted to announce the Key Note speaker Richard Clark, Chief Executive of the Mighty Creatives and speakers Alex Soulsby, Creative Projects Manager, Royal & Derngate; Rick Hall Director of Programmes Ignite! and Chair of Artswork. Speakers from direct projects will be varied and there will be a focus on projects with young people at risk; in youth justice settings, with looked after young people and young people in care. We are delighted to have a wealth of young people involved in the event that will provide evidence of their encounters with the arts and what difference it has made to their lives.
In particular, projects that have received funding via Positive Activities for Young People (funding aimed at young people aged 13-19 who are considered to be at risk of social exclusion and community crime) will be featured.
Breakout workshops will also be on offer and they will give you a flavour of what a creative approach to working can achieve:
- Using the arts with young people at risk
- Using the arts to develop aspiration, potential and leadership
- Young people can benefit from arts accreditation
- How to recruit and retain young people
- Proving your point- develop evidencing skills
…you should come away bursting with ideas and best practice guidelines (including hard copies of Artsplan’s ‘Using the Arts with Young People at Risk’ guidelines) in addition to new regional contacts to support you in your work.
The conference is being targeted at those who have little or no current remit for youth arts within their current youth provision and for arts and cultural organisations it offers a networking and celebratory opportunity for those already offering youth arts.
The conference partners are pleased to have subsidised your delegate fees, reducing the amount down to £20 per person! Lunch, refreshments and delegate packs will be provided on the day.
Once you have booked your place online, ENYAN will invoice you and on receipt of the £20 payment, your delegate place will be confirmed.
Booking is required for all delegates and a minimum of 2 weeks notice for any cancellation is expected. Spaces will be provided on a first come, first served basis!
